A Partnership in Learning

@ SWECHS

Welcome to Cooperation by Design an online professional development designed for you the staff at PSJA Southwest Early College High School (SWECHS) in order to have you participate and practice Cooperative Learning (CL) with your colleagues before or while you set it up in your own classroom.   All interactions will be facilitated through a mix of synchronous and asynchronous communication methods, including class discussion forums, email, sharing files on Office 365, web conferencing, and live training. Although you may be familiar with collaborative grouping as a Common Instructional Framework (CIF), this training takes a deeper focus on CL as social skills to improve student/school moral, attitudes and academic performance. To proceed in this website,  continue to scroll down and read from top to bottom.

PD Description

This training addresses the development of instruction for a Cooperative Learning environment. Participants will first attend an all day CL seminar with one of UTRGV's leading subject matter expert (SME), Dr. Bobbette Morgan and two of her doctoral students, Laura Hayward and Paul Perez-Jimenez. This online PD is designed as a six week followup during the participant's regularly scheduled Community Learning Center (CLC) 45 minute meetings. This online training is to be utilized for the selection and utilization of activities in developing, implementing, and evaluating CL instruction. Participants should explore the potential of suggested online media to enhance their CL strategies.
